Aloha! Thank you for your interest in the Benefits Planning Certificate Training Program. The Benefits Planning Certificate Training Program is sponsored by Department of Health Developmental Disabilities Division (DDD), and provided by University of Hawaii Center on Disability Studies (CDS).

The purpose of the Benefits Planning Certificate Training is to increase capacity and the availability of Benefits Planners in State of Hawaii. This training program leads to a Certificate of Benefits Practitioner, upon successful completion of the 5-day on-site training, online examination as well as a case file review. The timeline below will provide an illustration of the process. After earning your certificate, you will be required to take part in a benefits counseling presentation and two (2) formal mentoring sessions with CDS staff.
