Customized Employment – Training for Oahu Employers

June 3, 2014 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am

Cary Griffin

The Business Case for Hiring Workers with Disabilities

There are both civic and strong economic reasons to consider people with disabilities as employees. This breakfast session illustrates through multiple examples how a variety of companies benefitted from hir- ing and training a diverse mix of people who previously faced significant barriers to employment. The lesson learned is simple: Success results from matching an individual’s skills and preferences to work- place environments where your new employee helps satisfy the unmet needs of the business, a specific department, or your customers.
