IEP Workshop: Introduction to IEP

November 3, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Hawaii Department of Education Logo

Introduction to IEP is scheduled on November 3 (Saturday) from 9am to 12noon at University of Phoenix, Room 116/117, located at 949 Kamokila Blvd, Kapolei, HI 96707.

Individualized Education Program (IEP) is the cornerstone of a quality education for each student with a disability. IEP creates an opportunity for teachers, parents, students, school administrators and related services personnel to work together to improve the educational results for students with disabilities. IEP teams also work together to help students explore their interests and possible careers. The purpose of transition planning is to help the students prepare to be independent young adults. We are partnering with Department of Education, Leadership in Disabilities & Achievement of Hawai’i (LDAH), Special Parent Information Network (SPIN), and other parents to provide this two-part workshop on Individualized Education Program (IEP). Our target audience is transition-aged students and their families.

We will provide coffee, water and light breakfast during the workshop. Door opens at 845am. We will also include parking information and direction when we send out an email reminder for those who have signed up.

Please RSVP to Shree Deshpande, by email ([email protected]), or by phone (808-956-0966). Space is limited, first come first serve only.
